Boynton Beach, FL. – February 25, 2011 – CCTV Camera Pros, a direct supplier of surveillance systems and CCTV products, launched the new VM-Q401A color quad processor for CCTV cameras. The VM-Q401 supports the following video modes: quad screen (4 camera view), split screen (dual camera view), single screen view (one camera), sequence rotation (where the screen scrolls between the cameras configured for a set amount of time that is also configurable), picture in picture mode (main screen and PIP screen camera is switchable), and dual PIP where there are two smaller image views. The Q401A supports the 4 channels of video input via BNC connectors and 4 audio inputs via RCA. The VM-Q401A comes with the required power supply and the wireless remote control with battery.

Commenting on the VM-Q401A, CCTV Camera Pros co-founder and managing partner Mike Haldas says: “CCTV Camera Pros finds that quad processors and video multiplexers are still commonly used in many surveillance systems today. There are still many systems in service that are using legacy VCR surveillance recorders and the owners of these systems need a reliable partner like CCTV Camera Pros for affordable replacement parts. In addition, the sales engineers at CCTV Camera Pros continually find uses for quad processors when customers have video display requirements that go beyond what typical surveillance DVRs support. We also find that some customers are using CCTV cameras not for recording, but instead just for live viewing. Our new color quad processor helps us meet our customer’s requirements in all of these cases. One feature that stands out on this new unit is the split screen function. Many older video processors do not offer a 2 camera split screen display mode. The dual camera display and the thin wireless remote included with the VM-Q401A, set it apart from the other color quad processors on the market and we are proud of that.”

Hand-Held CCTV Test Monitor with Camera Power
CCTV Camera Pros of Boynton Beach Florida, today launched the new MON-LCD25P hand-held CCTV test monitorwith camera power. The LCD25P test monitor is different that many other service monitors on the market because the LCD25P is capable of supplying power to the security camera that it is being tested. The 2.5” LCD screen provides a crystal clear image that allows installers to verify the angle of view and focus of cctv cameras. Being that the LCD25P can supply power to cameras, security installers can temporarily hold a camera in position to confirm angle of view and focus without running permanent cables or permanently mounting the camera.
Commenting on the MON-LCD25P, CCTV Camera Pros co-founder Mike Haldas says: “Our customers have been asking for a hand-held CCTV test monitor that also powers the camera being tested for a while. We are very excited that we now have a manufacturing partner making the MON-LCD25P for us to our specification and quality assurance standards. There are several hand-held service monitors on the market but none at this affordable price point that use the battery of the tester to also power the security camera being tested. Our product development team continues to listen to the demands of our customers and deliver the product solutions that they ask us for. I am very proud of how CCTV Camera Pros continues to adapt to market demands.”

The LCD25P comes complete with the following: 2.5” LCD hand-held test monitor, quick release neck strap, rechargeable battery with power supply, coaxial test cable with RCA and BNC connectors, camera power supply cable, and instruction manual.
At the time of this writing, the MON-LCD25P is available from CCTV Camera Pros for $139.99. Click here for additional information or to purchase the MON-LCD25P portable CCTV test monitor.

CCTV Surveillance Systems with MAC Compatible DVR Viewer
Surveillance systems are vital for the protection and safety of the public, be it in a store, a public space, or a private residence. Surveillance systems are ideal for monitoring certain areas that are not easy to observe without being in the actual space. These systems help to make communities safer, and give property and business owners peace of mind when they are able to remotely monitor their property using DVR viewer technology.
A CCTV surveillance system is a very good option to provide business and homeowners with a means to remotely watch their property. Surveillance systems provide a reliable alternative to the traditional security guard and make it possible for business and homeowners to keep a watchful eye on their property without taking time away from their business or time with their families by using remote viewing technology built into many systems such as DVR viewer software and iPhone apps for watching CCTV cameras.
CCTV Camera Pros prides itself on providing dependable and reliable surveillance systems for home and businesses. CCTV Test Monitor
A CCTV test monitor is a device commonly used by CCTV installers and electricians during surveillance system installations when they need to mount, test, and focus a security camera. CCTV test monitors, also known as portable CCTV monitors are incredibly convenient because they enable one installer to perform the camera mount and focus. Typically, and without the use of a test monitor, mounting and focusing a surveillance camera requires two installers: one to adjust the camera and the other to be watching a monitor back at the location of the recorder. Furthermore, it is always a challenge for the two installers to communicate with each other because the DVR and the camera being mounted are typically not in the same room, so many installers rely on cell phone communication when mounting and back focusing cameras.
There are many test monitors available on the market and as with any electronic device, some are built better and perform better than others. Below are two models that we have tested and found to perform very well that are supplied by CCTV Camera Pros and range in price from $129.99 to $299.99. Both of these products are available for purchase on this page: Portable CCTV test & service monitors.

BNC Video Baluns for Cat-5
BNC video baluns allow a CCTV installer to use a twisted pair wire to run video to CCTV cameras. A pair from a cat-5 cable can be used. Other common wires and cables used with CCTV baluns are 18AWG, 20 AWG, 22 AWG and CAT-3.
Video baluns are very handy to use when a building is pre-wired with CAT-5. This connector allows you to leverage the existing cable that is already there. Many CCTV installers prefer using twisted pair instead of coax cable because it is cheaper and more flexible.
Passive video baluns (no power required) can typically be used to run CCTV video over cat-5 for a distance up to 1200 feet without video signal loss or interference.
The BNC baluns that appear in the image on the left are available from CCTV Camera Pros. Click here to view these and other CCTV video baluns available from CCTV Camera Pros.
BNC to VGA Converter
A BNC to VGA converter is typically used in surveillance installations to enable the use of inexpensive VGA computer monitors to connect to DVRs and security cameras that have BNC video output. The BNC to VGA converter pictured on the left has three different video inputs, labels 2, 3, and 4. The input types are BNC, S-Video, and VGA. The output, labeled (1), is VGA which is connected to a VGA computer monitor. This converter can have three different video inputs connected at the same time. The user can select which video input is used at any given time.
The BNC to VGA converter on this page is available from CCTV Camera Pros for $64.99 at the time of this writing. For more information on this product or to purchase it, please visit the CCTV Camera Pros BNC to VGA converter page.
